Catholic Mentorship & Daily Accompaniment

You’re not broken. You're just holding too much.

Heal your past and become who you are through the real-time support of Catholic Mentorship.

This model of accompaniment integrates the best of psychology with true authentic Catholic spirituality.

You’ve been doing it all on your own, but that doesn’t mean you have to.

My name is Paola. For years I struggled to find peace. Six months of mentorship accomplished what years of therapy couldn’t do for me.

Now I work with Catholic women around the world to reclaim their boundaries and their voice. I found peace and I want to share that with you.

— Paola Peña, Founder

You can be the woman God made you to be without being responsible for everyone else.

Before mentorship:

  • I felt resentment and guilt in my relationships.

  • I would avoid conflict to keep the peace.

  • I stuffed my feelings deep down to stay in control.

After mentorship:

  • My relationships are defined by freedom and forgiveness

  • I’m not afraid to use my voice to stand up for myself

  • I am secure enough to feel my emotions without fear

Frequently Asked Questions

What is exactly is mentorship?

Mentorship is neither traditional counseling nor spiritual direction, but occupies a unique space in between those two fields. Mentorship is daily accompaniment, looking at you and your story as an integrated whole, examined at your pace, with the goal of finding happiness and holiness in your life.

Unlike traditional once-a-week therapy sessions and once-a-month spiritual direction meetings, mentorship meets you in the present moment of your struggles. Because of this real-time, responsive format, progress is often more efficient, and change is more lasting. And since mentorship happens remotely, we aren’t bound by geography, no matter where you live, this support is available to you.

Yes. There are many clients who participate in both. Mentorship complements that work by supporting your emotional and spiritual integration in daily life.

Nope! I work with all people of all backgrounds and religious affiliations.

There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline for healing. Everyone’s situation is as unique as their interior life. Simply put – it’s as long as you need.

Unfortunately, we do not accept insurance, as our mentorship services are not considered clinical care. This allows us to offer a more personal, flexible, and spiritually integrated approach to your healing – one not limited by diagnosis or session restrictions.

I work with both men and women. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, or other typical mental health related issues, are looking for support and clarity in vocation-related struggles or discernment, are simply feeling burned out where you’re at in life, or want to go deeper and reach further along your path to holiness and happiness, the Catholic model I practice from will help you.

As a graduate of the CatholicPsych Model of Applied Personalism (CPMAP) through the CatholicPsych Institute, I am a certified Mentor and CatholicPsych Partner. Trained in the areas of Catholic Anthropology, Spirituality, and Psychology.

I am also a trained Spiritual Director and I have been offering direction to adults since 2021.

While I am not a licensed therapist and cannot diagnose, or prescribe medications, I am here to collaborate with the Holy Spirit in his plan for revival and resurrection in every part of your life. I’d consider it an honor to be a part of your journey toward healing, freedom, and peace.

Leading Women to Emotional Restoration

I know darkness, but I also know hope.

Even though I was a FOCUS missionary, worked professionally in ministry for over 14+ years, and was trained as a spiritual director, I still I carried DEEP psychological wounds.

I grew up in poverty as a first-generation American, in a high-conflict, dysfunctional home. My father left three times before I turned 10, and then my parents divorced. By middle school, I had took on responsibilities, like cooking family meals and waking up my mom so she would take us to school. I began financially supporting our household starting in high school. At one point, I was working four jobs to provide for a five-person family.

With a parent who has been homeless twice, I spent most of my life believing that loving my family meant doing whatever I could to make them feel better, no matter what it cost me.

As I looked for guidance and healing in my life, weekly therapy and monthly spiritual direction weren’t enough. Then mentorship came along. I needed the daily accompaniment. I needed to be re-parented and experience emotionally corrective experiences with someone safe in order to heal my psychology.

Through mentorship, God set me free. He wants to set the captives free, and I want to be available to help Him do it. That’s why I’m a mentor.
